Presentation & Tour of United Electronic Recycling

Host & Tour Guide: Terry Shultz, Account Manager for UER "United Electronic Recycling" & President of WE "Women in the Environment"

Tour – Seeing is to appreciate all that goes into processing electronics and all the operational paths involved. It’s generally more that most imagine. During the presentation, we will take you on a tour of all the steps and departments involved. From collecting the electronics during events and pickups, to receiving the equipment on our docks. The triage process: will it go to teardown, a specialty commodity stream, end-of-life contract, testing for resale, data security, wholesale or local retrial level, etc. And we'll take a quick look at the administrative part: from scheduling to final reports. It takes a full team and a lot of floor space to get it all done!

    $10 for WE members / $15 for non-members

Why save bats? Learn more by joining WE for an educational workshop with Kate Rugroden from the Bat World Sanctuary.

Come out to enjoy snacks, white sangria, and learn about our local bat population! The recipes come stright out of the "Bats in The Pantry" cookbook and a copy will be given away at the event.

Kate will have artifacts & specimens from around the world on display and will be signing copies of her book - - you won't want to miss this one!

At Bat World MidCities, an official Bat World Sanctuary Rescue Center, we rescue hundreds of bats every year who might otherwise die. Lifetime sanctuary is given to non-releasable bats, including those that are orphaned, injured, or elderly. Bat World MidCities offers continuing professional education courses on native wildlife care for wildlife rehabilitators, animal control officers, game wardens, and veterinarians and veterinary technicians. All BWMC volunteers are permitted by Texas Parks and Wildlife and are trained and vaccinated to handle bats safely. We are a 501c3 non-profit, and donations allow us to continue our rescue efforts for bats. www.batworld.org

Network with other women that work in the environmental "green" industries. Bring a bottle of wine and let's make a memory!

Each year, WE hosts a Chocolate and Wine Event, and some of the best networking happens! Friends meet up and new friendships begin.

Everyone is welcome, just bring a bottle of wine and a favorite chocolate!

Join us for an evening of socializing and sharing.
